So Gil Gershman strikes again, this time under the guise of "thedolphinhotel" on eBay. I'm not sure if anyone else around here has had a Gil Gershman experience, but this guy pops up about every six months or so and bids like a fiend - over 70 items in the last month this time. Then he proceeds to pay or not pay for the items he won, seemingly in an arbitrary fashion. I think he's won around 10 auctions from me and made good on about half of them. Anyone else had an experience with this guy? i0 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yes, he's horrible. i have about a dozen or so of his incarnations on my blocked bidder list. Including this most recent one you've mentioned. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I havent personally heard of him but on a related note - I was discussing non-paying bidders with a coworker who noted that some people have an addiction and just bid like crazy irregardless of whether they plan on paying. The other theory is they bid on 100 different items in the hopes they'll actually win 20. When they find they've won 70 items they just choose to pay for those they really want and/or can afford. I think the term is called hedging your bets... Shimone/Justes http://www.staticbeats.com Electronic Music > Digital Culture --- iteration zero <iterationzero@gmail.com> wrote:
