a few things that i ment to recommend on here, but never got around to it. nynak - pattern errors - on #3 its a dope record. kind of similar to the electronic music composer record on planet-mu. glitchy breaks, strange melody, advanced and clean sounding. the first two records on this label were comps featuring artists that mostly appear on the "dub" label (funckarma etc), this is the first solo record, and although the feel of the tracks vary, its more uptempo. and rather different... 65daysofstatic - stumble.stop.repeat -dustpunk7 i may have mentioned this before, but its really good, and actually out now. they definitely aren't a "genre" band, but they do a blinding blend of a post-rock and idm. soundwise they touch on alot of things, from very hushed to more frenetic. they should appeal to kids on this list who also dig GSYBE!, Mogwai etc... last one - check out the two new records from Drop the Lime, on Ambush and on Mutant Sniper...some amazing stuff that takes jungle/breakcore/electro/vocals and mashes them up in a very creative and smashing way.... - cutups --- WRECKED diy electronic music & media http://rhinoplex.org/wrecked

My turn : Tomcats in Tokyo (Sweet Gloomy Home) is my favorite record of the next 3.5 minutes. Hmmm...melodic IDM to be sure, but takes several pages from many books. Has a touch of what Skam can produce when they're on the money. Full of beats, lush enough for fans on mid-90s period "classic" IDM and spans wide enough to cross many subcategories. Not minimal or predominantly glitchy, but has some good glitch. Grab it. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Glad to see 65daysofstatic mentioned. I heard a demo of theirs a while ago and saw them live once or twice. Nice chaps trying something different. They play every month or so in and around Oxford (UK). Worth checking out. Fans of Detroit techno should check out the new Future Beat Alliance "Lumiere Ep" on Versatile. The track "Fake Love" sounds a little inspired by Carl Craig. Top notch wax! Has anyone picked up the new I:Cube album? I was curious what it was like. Another 12" with Detroit sensibilities is Fabrice Lig's "Los Picaros". It's part detroit/part brazilian. Smashing tune! Another brilliant detroit/brazil tune is John Arnold's "Respectall" Essential!! Iain S Hinchliffe <iain_hinchliffe@lycos.com> wrote: Glad to see 65daysofstatic mentioned.
