I know that's him from past posts made...but that's my point. Regardless of whether he's been posting to this list longer than i have, it still is really pompous and fucking obnoxious to name drop himself. "Oooh look at me, i'm quasi-famous, and i'm going to use that fact to convince you to respect my opinion." That's fuckin' weak. I probably wouldn't have said anything had the name not been in caps, but that definitely sent things flying head-on into arrogance land. But i suppose I shouldn't be talking back to bigup Brainwashed-writin'-idm-list-veteran you like this...where oh where has my respect face gone? Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the fact that accomplished artists like coil and intelligent industry peoples like you post to this list. I just think the best way to approach things isn't from some cloud looking down on stupid people like me... but rather on a little step ladder. That way, i can still tell whether you're smirking while you're answering my lame-ass questions. xoxoxoxo, chuckles question: where can i get lexaunculpt background, discog, news, etc if i don't have the flash plugin their site at www.peachfuzz.net/lexaunculpt/ wants and my unix lab box doesn't offer. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Wow, thats alot to read into 4 words. So I guess only people making music who aren't "quasi-famous" are allowed to put their band name at the end of their posts? God knows every geek and his brother on this list has a 5 page sig promoting his new crappy song on mp3.com. Just because you were overpowered so easily by his persona doesn't mean he was trying to overpower you with it. He simply was putting his name and project at the end of his post like every one else does. Treat him and this simple act as you would anyone else on this list. You might know the music, but you don't know the man. rw --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think we should really let this particular subject drop. It's hard enough for the boys in Coil, slaving day in and out making remixes for Nine Inch Nails, only to have people buy the disc for the Aphex Twin tracks. They don't need any more grief from our lot. m@2zo www.thechisa.com "Like David said in the 23rd Psalm, 'Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.' I don't think anyone is looking down on anyone else, necessarily. It's just a pertinent thing to mention on this list. It gives some context for what he's saying, you know where he's coming from. And personally, I've never detected a whiff of condescension in anything John Balance has posted to the list. Which, given some of the shit that gets posted, must make him some kind of saint. What is your problem, maybe he has a signature like that... So what ?!!? I read what people have to say and don't give a damn about their signature. philippe ************************************************************** http://www.bip-hop.com unconventional sound adventures, adventurous & creative electronica... ************************************************************** TENNIS : europe on horseback [bleep 03] Europe on Horseback, as its title suggests, is a relaxed voyage. The rhythms slowly draw you into a cushioned saddle and an electronic trot then begins, taking us through fields of bubble bass, valleys of sonic glitches, and mountains blooming with digitalia. Not quite as minimal as Pole but just as deep. They never break into a gallop, conserving energy rather than letting it run wild. This record is a form of deconstructed dub / house which avoids 4/4 time at every corner creating a relaxed, challenging and accessible electronica lined with interesting bass lines. A great full-length from bip-hop stables. Haunting trumpet melodies over soft drones and textures sets the mood. The music takes on cinematic proportions as the terrain unfolds. Interstellar landscapes are revealed. MAX EASTLEY plays The Arc. A nine foot long mono chord. One string stretched over wood and played with a bow or glass rods. The pitch is changed by flexing the wood. The string can also be shortened with clips. It is then fed into electronic effects. The SPACEHEADS is a duo mixing trumpet and electronics with drums and percussion. Plaintive trumpet calls are looped across pulsing beats that propel us into sheets of metal crashing and vibrating through tiny pick ups cranked to the full and then spun into electronic webs. You see, everyone... when someone achieves any level of success, the vehemence and passion of his or her detractors over even the most minor of issues shines through... thus further emphasizing that persons level of success. When someone says nothing (you know, like some people claim Autechre are doing by not responding onlist or to their personal emails), they're looked down upon. If they say something (as John Balance has), then they're looked down upon. A hater is a hater whether it be krautrock or pop. I hope I get famous someday. Then I can ignore it when people talk trash about me as I sit in my Park Avenue penthouse smoking a Cohiba and drinking a smooth whiskey and say "Wow, I'm fucking famous! Joe in Idaho thinks I'm weak." -djgyn, meester lubberman ===== ======= "GASR" -(Accession recording artists)- << http://gasr.somewhere.net >> << http://www.accession-records.com >> "Transmissions From Scumsburg" -(Industrial Radio Show)- << http://www.angelfire.com/ma/scumsburg/ >> __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
