I stated why "interesting" and Plaid don't mesh. Plaid's cds are almost
indistinguishable from one another, and their Black Dog stuff is very
similar. Their work doesn't progress electronic music in any way other
than to raise the quality and production value of tracks to new heights.
And while that may sound like a huge endorsement of them, its not really.
There are lots of people out there who can put out really nice tracks that
are fun that do not require much effort on the listener's part. Most
notably Mouse on Mars, whom I prefer. Plaid is just high quality fun
music, and not art
like ae can be, at least if you ask me. Plaid is good, not interesting as
far as I am concerned.
