This from CNET: http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1005-200-5519107.html?tag=lh For all of you who *haven't* ever subscribed to the emusic.com service I recommend now would be a good time to go and pay your 19.95 to download some goodies. An Emusic buyout may very well mean a change in business models as well as an end to the availability of some of their more underground electronic music offerings (since the buyout has ties to Universal and Sony and may involve their titles exclusively). For more in-depth emusic.com information I highly recommend the emusic coolstuffdownloadguide over at monotonik: http://mono211.com/emusic/ Shimone/Justes http://www.staticbeats.com Electronic Music For The Mind

If I remember rightly, Luke Vibert *did* make a stop in Detroit last time around.... admittedly it was with that steel guitar guy... What have you done for me lately? -Ryan At 04:30 PM 4/5/2001 -0400, you wrote:

Because Detroit clubs don't book them? Because no one there sees it as being even a break in proposition? I'm not in Detroit, so I can't speculate. Luke Vibert doesn't set up tours by throwing darts at a map of the United States -- someone at Ninjatune Canada has to contact venues, get deposits, line up plane tickets, set up promotion, yadda yadda... I WOULD book Wagonchrist, and I've contacted Ninjatune about getting dates from their artists, and I never heard about this tour. Not to whine too much but HEY JEFF I'M SERIOUS HERE ;-) If you really want to book people like this, you'll have to do it yourself. It's not that complicated -- it's just not that easy. You can lose money and get involved in insane logistical snafus, and end up dealing with player haters all the live long day. Oh the stories I could tell.. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I believe the whole tour is DJ sets only. Anyone have a clue as to what he'll spin? or what he's spinning these days? I saw him a few years back with DJ Krush at Justice League in SF and it was pretty wack IMO, he played a bunch of pop-hip-hop that you could hear anywhere at the time (with lots more skratchin'!) which was kinda disappointing, I think a lot of people bailed early from the lack of wierdo other beats. I know he's the consummate hiphop kid but I think people were jonesing for the Plug in him to show out for us.... I'll probably end up going anyway, I like 6ix, you can buy crack right outside the door ;) - and have preshow drinks at SF's "Best Bisexual Bar" (whatever that means) - POW! -i --- Greg Clow <greg@stainedproductions.com> wrote:
