I was feeling especially open minded today, so I wasn't too much put off by
the gushing over Syndrone to check it out. My take? Okay, this stuff is
really good. More depth than I've heard in a while...I'm going to order
this.
Also, cruising the site, I found Fizzarum's "Vesat" from the Squadron
compilation. I like these guys, but this song sounds like it could have come
straight offa Incunabula. I'm not sure how to take this...on the one hand, I
dig the song...on the other hand, it sounds like Autechre from 8 years ago.
These guys do have some originality, though, and they do seem inspired at
times...I find myself hoping that this is only the beginning of a musical
'growing up'.
If these guys can mimic autechre THIS well, they have an ear and some
talent. Now it comes time to see if they challenge themselves to do
something completely unique. This could be fun.

yeah
im a big wanna be
i love syndrone
I have just about everything he's ever done. He's utterly amazing, i find
his music as mechanical as Ae, yet within a surprisingly humane streak
through his melodies. Its incredible, all of you, PLEASE, go listen to
audio samples at www.m3rck.net. The Merck CD release was utterly amazing,
as was his performance at SINFEST 2000. my regards to travis if he is
reading this, i utterly adore your music.
