i think this bastard is never going to peak he'll keep making tracks and only releasing when he needs more money, thats what i assume hes doing now, making music simply for the sake of making music, no boundaries, doesnt give a fuck what others thinks, because it really doesnt matter, he can release what ever the hell he wants and well buy it. at least once, anyway, if its really bad(and probrably twice, how many of you thought the rdj album was terrible, mocking, the first time you heard it) if everyones really anxious to hear what hes been up to lately, how about stealing it, or killing him, im sure its in his will somewhere that it gets released, or maybe hes like kafka, and the only way it will get out is if someone "saves" it from destruction or disintigration. maybe its just the psychology imprinted by the medias image of him, but i dont think so, i still havent seen a single article on the bugger except for the thing in TEX, his music is the mystifying thing about him, it's always growing, expanding, and destroying the bounderies set up around it. same can be said for autechre. sadly, it can no longer be said for muziq, the envelopes sealed just a little bit to tight, but dont give up hope yet, look at the difference between bluff limbo and in pine effect, urmer bile and lunatic harness. one of those old school buggers who actually got in through industrail, skinny puppy and teargarder, etc. brian _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Hey, I always thought that Windowlicker video is the most disgusting and sickening thing he's ever done.... What a shame for a creator of "I care because you do....". His carreer should end definetely if he's going to pursue in direction of windowlicker..... btw. Come to Daddy video rules! His best albums were Vetolin remixes and RDJ Little Album STRICTLY IMHO - no offense or objections acceptable. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I have not heard hangable auto bulb 1. yet having almost all of his stuff I still can confirm that aphex went donwhill after start of the 90s. windowlicker is a poor attempt in comparison to AFX Classics. strictly IMHO. btw. I like all of his music nevertheless. -----Original Message----- From: DynamiCell@aol.com To: chuck0@cfom-music.com; xdrquinnx@flatearthjihad.com; idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Boston FUCKING Massachusetts (Warp Lighthouse Party)

Your guess on Aphex's motivations for pulling out is much the same as mine, but I don't know that the analogy to Van Vliet (Captain Beefheart) holds much water here. I don't think the good Captain had much of a choice about stopping when he did. His health was failing, as was his voice, and Ice Cream For Crow found him a pale shadow of his former self-- it's almost sad to hear him croaking away like that, even though the artistry was still estimable. And anyway, Van Vliet's career couldn't have had any easily definable peak. Rather, it has a deep and yawning trough, aka the mid-seventies, bracketed by two periods of stellar output. He couldn't have sunk to the level of Unconditionally Guaranteed again at any point in his hypothetical later career-- at worst, he would have merely become irrelevant (much like Pere Ubu and The Fall have, to a large degree). Oh well... Cheers, Matthew ----- Made with affection by distrustful lovers. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. yes it is i've only heard one track of this, and that was a long time ago didnt have the money then , dont have the money now(or the technology for that matter) to get a copy. what are these like? i remember the one track being the perfect mix between the melodic ambient nature of...i care because you do and the "bleep bloop squeck im a little kid sound of RDJ album" and i would put that 90% at a very modest estimate, probrably closer to 99%, considering how "popular" aphex has become as of late. just more shit from another hungry mouth. brian _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. everyday is from HAB2, one of his best releases imo. the other track on it is called arched maid via RDJ. i hope warp rerelease it so all the people who hasnt heard it can because it's a brilliant record and so is the first part. before Windowlicker I would've claimed this to be his peak, maybe together with the on eps, but now I'm not so sure anymore. franz --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I have every Aphex release, (and some unreleased) and agree for the most part. The RDJ album is BEAUTIFUL, and if I were stranded on a desert island for the rest of my live, and could bring one CD and a solar-powered discman with me, RDJ album is the one I'd take. On Come To Daddy, Bouncing Ball and Flim are great tracks, especially Ball. On WIndowlicker, [complex equation] is fascinating, especially when you look at the pictures it makes on an oscilloscope.

I would also like to add that I didn't call the person an asshole, I said that they were being an asshole to other fans of the same music, which is unusual. I did call them a jackass however, but jackass is as jackass does.
