I was art director on about one dozen of these things,I will call and find out,if it there is any truth to these rumors(very very doubtful) ,I will post any info. Regardless I will forward these letters to the producer,it would be funny if a rumor/lame pun like Unplugged-Electronica would bring these shows about. Which poses a bigger question,do I really want MoM or Funkstorung on MTV?From a commercial standpoint they would never do anyone too 'difficult', no oval , pan sonic. The deciding factor: record sales. Another MTV wonk weighing in.. after the slow and painful death of AMP, I personally don't see MTV laying out for another electronica show of *any* kind in the us -- all of the big hype around electronica has kind of died down, even though all forms of electronic music remain blazingly popular (and heavily played) on the European MTV properties. i give it a year, maybe less. "modern rock" is so stagnant we are due for another Nirvana-style paradigm shift, the next Prodigy album should do it :) but "IDM" in it's current state will never make it to the mainstream in the USA because there are no vocals. also i think there is a major testosterone factor to be taken into consideration as far as the MTV-fratboy-jock target audience is concerned, and last i checked, Markus Popp's music didn't really seem to exude manliness.
