Not as strong in my opinion. I think the Insomnia tracks meander a bit much like, well a soundtrack, while Patashnik is more techno-ish than ambient because its older material. Its not bad, but if you are looking for Substrata you won't find it. Id also get the Phonophani cd from Biophon, its not Geir but its on his label. http://www.oz.net/~hayduke/biosphere/html/biophon.html ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-4202 Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Fort Worth, Texas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Funny, strange and weird, isn't it - but there's no accounting for taste :-) Personally I prefer the older Biosphere (Microgravity, Patashnik) to the much lauded Substrata - which left me cold and unfortunately unmoved after all the hoopla and hype it generated. np : the sound of a huge cement mixer down the driveway... I like the first two Biosphere albums better than anything he has done since. It's a different style than the later material.. The first two albums are in an ambient/techno style but it's some of the best ambient/techno out there. Microgravity is an absolute classic. Patashnik is really good too. I would rate Microgravity as my favorite Biosphere album and Patashnik #2. I'd put the Jenssen/Namlook album Fires of Ork right up there with Microgravity as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
