hello everyone, i was just wondering what everyone is thinking about this release. i got it a few weeks ago and i'm still undecided. the first track is kinda like a "pop" song. his version of "claire de lune" is great, though. peter --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I don't like this CD at all. Much of his previous records have this rich, emotional charge that pulls me in. Martians and Spaceships however feels detached, cold, dull and lacking any kind of cohesive structure. Feels like a bunch of tracks thrown together..... and the tracks aren't that great either (the Debussy track is technically interesting, as I'm assuming the entire piece was sequenced on his Powerbook) but otherwise.... *yawn*. I'd like to second Aaron's opinion. It is a boring release. His choice of sounds is poor this time, the tracks itself are weak and his commentary on AFX in the booklet is stupid. His remix for Fingernail is boring as well. What's happening?! I'm pretty unimpressed with this one. I suppose I should've expected it since I've never been a big BW fan, but I read a couple of good things about it so I though I'd give it a shot. I'll agree that it's quite different from his earlier work in many ways, but it's still doesn't turn my crank. However - the Fingernail remix album, also on Fuzzybox, is excellent. I even like the Bochum Welt remix. :) Greg --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I didn't like it when I first heard it either. But now I think it's very good. It takes a few listens to grow on you. My only complaint is that it's too damn short (like all of his releases) :-) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I got it a week or so ago and I'm enjoying it so far. It's not up to the level of, say, Module2 or Feelings On A Screen.. but still good, "Starcluster" being my favorite track. Didn't care too much for the piano piece on the b-side, though. It's just not what he's good at. When it's simple electro beats and pretty melodies, he's in top form. But when he's trying to be a concert pianist... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
