Although they hold my interest for hours at a time, I undestand this sentiment. I'd argue that unlike a lot of other idm-type fodder, this is music that is best presented by a good DJ with three turntables. I've been working on a mix and am targeting its finish by the end of March. When I'm done I'll make sure it gets put up at www.techno.ca, and you can all make your own decisions. bbn@cycling74.com _______________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Funny.. me and my roomates had a simple house party a little while ago, and most of the people who came were your avg raver/dance music kids. well by the time I went on i was feeling lousy (sick + sleep deprivation). so I started out by spinning cologneish stuff. Like I told another DJ there, it will be techno but without any strong beats. The general reaction was 'what the fuck are you playing?' I dunno, I kinda got off on making everyone uncomfortable since it was almost good to dance to, but really monotonous and abstract (i.e. no easily recognizable samples or sounds). But whatever, I had fun freaking the kids out. so if there's one bit of knowledge I came away from wrt the night, it's that IDM and coke just don't mix. ;) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Speaking of , Just got this Cologne House CD of Neuton last week-end, it's a real cool minimalist housey mix : "Kompakt Koln prasentiert : Michael Mayer" with tracks from Reinhard Voigt, The Modernist , Christian Morgenstern and Mike Ink ( DOM ) and some others I don't really know ... three ( well, 4, but who's counting ) of the tracks have vocals but they all are cool !!! Anything else in that vein ? I already have some kompakt, profan and most CR/BC stuff, whether it's harder ( Heiko Laux Mix on Neuton ) or softer ( more housey ) I'm open to suggestions ... Max. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

that is one of my favorites as well. you may want to also check out the following- kompakt cd4- mix by tobias thomas. not as many vocals (2 tracks i think), but the same dry, cologne house sound. ladomat cd5 (v/a)- not as housey, but a good example of the german pop-dance thing. also, turner and forever sweet on ladomat have some good full-lengths that fit in this category. cl --- clietz@enteract.com On Mon, 20 Mar 2000 16:33:04 Maximilien Lincourt wrote:
