The discussion about portability reminds me of the portable "scratch station" the Vandals were using circa 1988. It was a toy record player that the singer wore around his neck that actually worked. Hilarious stuff. I also remember that before the advent of car CD players, there were turntables designed for use inside of motorhomes and semi-trucks. Who knows? You might be able to find them cheap at garage sales.

Err.... this is kinda irrelevant, but for those who are finally getting around to buying their own turntables.... want a technics 1200, and don't have the cash for it..... I bought myself the first of a new breed of clones: the gemini pt-1000. Cost me a mere $420 Canadian.... a fraction of the cost of a T1200. If I can answer any questions for anyone, I'd be more than pleased..... it has been getting a lot of play since I bought it last month. BTW: For those that care, mono symptoms are almost gone. I have a handful of goodies I picked up in the uk I want to share, including new universal language 12"'s and some spanky jungle singles.... Oh, and I move to Pittsburgh in 10 days. More on that later. obIDM: Guess I got some catching up to do.... all I can say is after hearing the new Fatboy Slim, the artist may be just another Chemical Brothers clone, but he sure knows how to wield a 303..... wow!
