ATR did back up for NiN a year or two ago in Brixton, London - they were
amazing...a bit different live to what they do on their records...the crowd
hated them, 'cause they were mostly sad goth types...they kept booing, and
crying..."he's too ugly to be musical, trent reznor is much prettier",
etc....
Basically, they came on, Alec had a guitar, and went up to the mic, the drum
machines started, the synths started going...he plucked a few chords, took
the guitar, smashed it on the ground (pretty much left it there for the rest
of the gig), grabbed the mic and started squeeling into it...meanwhile the
lady and gent behind (can never remember their name, and ain't willing to go
upstairs to look it up...Nic Endo is one...eh...yeah...) stood twiddling
stuff, slowing the drum machine down, and speeding it up, pretty much
randomly...the sound got more and more distorted, lots of clipping, delay
units going into overdrive...a general mess (would say cacophony, but thats
so pretentious sounding) of sound...I kept jumping up and down,
screaming...what a great gig...just for the fact that all the NiNers were so
pissed off by it...
:)
RoNAn
P.S. NiN were quite good too...
P.P.S. I know this doesn't answer your question...but...ah feck it...
P.P.P.S. I think they released that gig on CD too...
