i use buzz, which is basically a tracker with the addition of
softsynths. i find that the tracker interface is essential (at least
for me) for writing drill'n'bass or other complex rythm stuff. that's
probably why a lot of these people use trackers. writing this stuff in
plain midi sequencers is a royal pain in the ass.
