it's true that most of waterloo's CDs are arranged alphebetically,
without regard to genre, making it time-consuming to browse for CDs from
a certain style. however, i consider this a feature. i suspect that
many of waterloo's customers are interested in a wide range of styles,
and the arragement encourages those customers to find and try
something new.
an important part of this approach is that, last i knew, waterloo allows
one to listen to anything (vinyl or CD) before buying. this is about as
user (customer?) friendly as it gets. what about 33 degrees? i've been
there, but they didn't have anything i was in the mood to hear. it
seemed like their selection was mostly experimental/prog/noise.
in any case, last time i was at waterloo (almost a year ago), the VINYL
electronic music was grouped together.
