idm peeps:
oh jeez...i think i.ll put my money on the one with the boards shirt and the
boards 12's...those din records are cut so damn nice the couldn.t cut
meat...i.ll bet you could cut heads off with the skam boards releases.
i had some questions for anyone who can answer them...here we go:
1: anyone know if there are going to be any more blir releases?...i thought
there were supposed to be 4 in the series...
2: pole and vladislav delay colab?...true?...anyone know what pole.s doing
these days...?
3: anyone know the release dates for phoenecia.s brown out and takeshi.s
album...
4: also...when.s that patcha kutek cd coming out on beta bodega...
speaking of beta bodega...i was thinking today...if i stereotype...the
majority of people buying bbc records are fairly well-to-do people...maybe
middle-class white dudes...right?...i doubt that these people are really
going to give a care about third world suffering...nor are they going to try
and do anyting about it...plus...why the secrecy...if bbc is so determined
to spread the word of truth and justice...why put the electronic music
anonymity veil on?...and the v8 transmission on psych. ops?...if you want to
be truthful...why not make something at least coherent.
i.m just wondering if the secrecy and mystery surrounding bbc releases is
just a marketing ploy...i mean...i e-mailed hamijama about the track titles
on cultivar and the damned decoder thing...and he didn.t even seem to know
himself. .nother thing...do you really think that the bbc artists are really
writing songs to relate the suffering of thrid world peoples?...i don.t
know...i.m kid of skeptical that any bbc artist is sitting there saying "how
can i make this sound like third world suffering"...well...slap a title like
'skin blisters' on there...or something in a foreign language...and there ya
go...instant bbc track. i.m not saying the music isn.t great...which it
is...i love it...i buy it...but everything else just seems like a costume to
me...kind of an in vain effort...i think the ultra-red releases seem a
little more provoking...they seem to be going out there and trying to make a
difference in the community and things...just seems like bbc is trying to
sell records...(nothing wrong with that though)...still...i.m still
wondering about their merits as social spokespeople...i mean...after hearing
phonem.s track on needle.s transmissions i.d rather just listen to it again,
and again, and nauseam, not go out and make a difference...
lemme know what you think...i mean...why didn.t sony mao just tell everyone
the needle tracklist...instead of posting abuja or whatever computer server
jargon?...come on now...a dude can.t just know who worked on a track?
(ps...i know they.re just anagrams and easy to figure out...but
whatever...trying to make a point i guess...)
please don.t take me too seriously on this one...just a thought while
reading the banana republic insert...which is kinda vague...but aren.t they
all...? fine music though...and that.s what counts.
