don't worry, it died the death it so rightfully deserved. this was a long time ago (maybe circa 1990?). i remember ads in the music rags against this which showed a piano with a bunch of keys missing. i even joined a mailing list for an organization that was dedicated to stopping this abomination before it started. the SCMS (serial copy management scam, er, scheme) code was instituted instead but most pro-DATs either let you switch it off or just ignore it entirely. and it only affects 44.1 transfers. -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com SpotMedia Communications ...I was an infinitely hot and dense dot...
