I actually don't understand what the big deal about Jacob's Optical Stairway is.
Sounds very bland to me in terms of rhythmic, timbral, and sample choices, i.e. on
all counts in my book. I must be missing something.
If you haven't heard it already, run out and buy the Plug album now - I'd say it's
one of the few "must-have" releases in the IDM genre. Classic shit.
