I recently picked up the Ambient Dub Vol II on Beyond Records (which is excellent) and it features A.P.L. They have one of the most mesmerizing tracks I've heard in a while. The track is called "The Calling". First, does anyone know what euipment they used on that track? Could it be a 303 running through a Space Echo? Second, what else is known about A.P.L. ? see you in the phuture, _-_->psiborg<-_-_

On Ambient Dub III there's also a track by A.P.L., 'Hypnosystem'. On Trance Europe Express II A.P.L. are present with 'Pleidean Communication'. Both tracks are pretty good, but i don't hear a 303. btw, Mixmaster Morris' track on TEX II is very good.... (the whole thing is very good actually...) I'm also really looking forward to a new Speedy J album. His tracks on AI2 and TEX II are some of the best things i heard in a while.... Are they anything like "Pepper" ? I consider "Pepper" housey trance. I guess I'll find out soon, as I'm waiting on an order for AI2 and TEXII ! -kc

Mmmm, they're a bit more like the 'laid-back' songs on 'Ginger', like 'R2 D2' and 'Fill 14'. Jochem's new(ish) CD5 on Warp/Beam Me Up! is really good too. It features mixes of 'Beam Me Up!' and 'Pepper' as well as an impressive live set including 'Ginger', 'Pepper' and 'Flashback'. This CD5 is more housey trance. Don't know much about equipment, but A.P.L. stands for A Positive Life. The two members of APL are Patrick Morsman and Stef Pierlejewski. Their hobbies include watching rainbows and blowing bass bins (but who doesn't enjoy these things?). This is according to the One A.D. compilation from Waveform (US), which has two mixes of "The Calling": Track 6: APL - The Calling 5m09s Track 11: APL - The Calling (ambient mix) 11m20s
