Look, chaps this is much 2 much about whats idm etc being posted. I reckon this place is good for talking about 'trance/techno/whatever' ie non - fsol style stuff, just because usually a lot of people seem to respond favourably, when specific artists are in question, and there are a lot of people on the list who seem to know their stuff. btw. who the hell said CJ Bolland etc. was 'idm' while anything else under the makeshift label 'trance' isnt. fuck that. ++++++ Anyway music Q (and its not about idm ha) : anyone heard/got a Dub lp 'Dubbing with the Observer' by The Observer@king tubbys' ? I heard a track from it & it was best dub ever. What i wanna know is is it one and the same as the 2lp/2cd 'king tubby special' thing with the frilly border? Also nother important Q about top tune.... would appreciate any further details on the record 'face a la mer' (Massive attack rmx) by Les Negres Vertes. <- heard this tune too, it is absolutely excellent. has hip/hop stlye instr. beats a la dust bros, with french accordion on top. Does anyone know how old it is... what label etc..? * Dust Bros * new 12"... I was told, a couple of week ago by my local shop that the new dust bros (NOT 14th C), was not going to be released, and that promos were changing hands for extraordinary amounts... but Fat Cat (=London Techno HQ) said they didnt think this was the case.. Anyone got the inside story? Cheers, Chris. p.s. don't bother flaming about me talkin about dub etc. (now the heat is on) I'd rather get 50 msgs about 1/4 tone peruvian gerbil players than 50 msgs saying that what someone else listens to is more int ...etc.

OOH! We can dub talk now? Anyone and everyone should at least listen to Epic Sound Battles Chapter One - Playgroup. It's an Adrian Sherwood/ON-Usound thing on Trance. I could go on about dub for days but I don't want to offend the "IDM police". e-mail me for further dubsense. -robert

Yes! I was just making a drum and bass style dub tape, full of the King himself! You want intelligent dance music, well here it is: 70s reggae cuts remixed live by analog genius, skunkin' it for da rude boy in ya.. It is the same as the King Tubby double pack.. Oh how I worship that man!!! As for the IDM discussion, I guess I may come off like a jerk to you guys, but I guess I come from another school... As for my current "IDM" favorites, I think Dan Curtin is a genius.. I've gotten some interesting tracs from Bunker.. Dj White Delight@Utrax keeps blowing me away.. I think the new Drexciya is absolutely bugged!.. I'm still listening to Shh/Peaceful by Miles Davis several times a week.. I'm diggin' the Beautyon Lp on Irdial disc.. I think the last Teste and Perceptrons records got slept on big time.. etc.... As for kids buying techno on CD, I think I'd have to say that most everything that I really cherish came out on vinyl only.. I'm not dissin' CDs, but I'd have to say that you're really comprising your options buying CDs.. P.S. I'm in the middle of making a Jungle/Dub tape.. It's all about whether it makes you feel good, not what's deemed acceptable.. A for those who wanna start shit about my sig can write a program to filter it.. ** ******** Anthems: E2 E4, Shh/Peaceful ********** Movies: THX1138, The Yellow Earth ********** Passtime: Drinkin' 40s, Begging for free records!! ******** Game Machine: Vectrex **B.orn U.nder a R.hyming P.lanet

The official story goes that they decided they didn't like one of the tracks on the EP as promoed, so they pulled it, substituted a different track but under the same name and have now re-released the EP. No doubt at some future opportune moment when the few copies of the original that were issued are changing hands for suitably large amounts they will offload the rest of the pressing onto the market.
