Is your amplifier a receiver? If it is test if the radio is fine, if it is the culprit is probably the turntable. You can also try with headphones, if you have any, to test if it is the speakers or the speaker-cables. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

well its strange, i checked with my headphones, same noisy. i downloaded the track as mp3 and yes its not as noisy as on the record. i even found a new stylus which i never used (because its not that good) and replaced it with the other one. same noisy sound, now i would say its the record but it wasnt that noisy before and the noisy sound is there in general. so what could it else be?? checked the turntable connection, nothing suspicious. anyone any idea? dont tell me i need another turntable to find out because i dont have one.. thanks rb rb skrev:

Can you describe the sound ? What frequency is it at .. ? Is it a scratchy sound a hum a whine a hiss a buzz .. all these sounds help to identify the type of fault it is. It's all about signal path ' and finding at what stage in the signal path the noise is occurring. ] Can you hear the noise when you are not playing anything? Could you record the sound and release it as idm? Best of luck .. .simon rb wrote:
