The nightly news is not a snuff film for you to enjoy. I've been evacuated from my home due to a flood. I've spent time sinking eight foot long 4"x4" posts three feet into the ground and building fences to shore up sandbag dykes... and I count myself lucky that the dykes held and that my home was saved. I count myself lucky that I didn't have to witness widespread panic, rioting, looting and people using arms to find a way to get out of a crisis situation. From what I understand, more than a half-a-million people have lost their homes... and the people that had the least to lose are the ones that are still stuck in a situation where they're fighting each other for survival. What's fascinating is that assholes are entertaining themselves with song lyrics instead of doing somethng positive. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I didn't post those killing joke lyrics for entertainment. Just a retort to the bag of shite zeppelin lyrics. there's enough brain damage on US TV for 'entertainment', I wouldn't call it 'news', when it's all about how worrying it is for all the lost businesses. I agree, take care of the people first, fuck the business...it's all insured deadstock anyway. And don't forget, Bush is still making a shitload out of misery. dj fishead <fishead666@hotmail.com> wrote: The nightly news is not a snuff film for you to enjoy. ok, fuck you asshole, this morning i donated $714 dollars, my entire savings account to the red cross. That's almost all the money i have, it was for a new computer. I did this because 5 members of my family no longer have homes or possessions because their entire house is under water (they don't have any flood insurance either). I was not making light of the situation, nor was i simply amusing my self with song lyrics. Memphis Minnie wrote that song about a situation just like this, and as i listened to it this afternoon i was very moved i thought it might move other people, and perhaps inspire them to do something, as you said, "positive". In absolutely no way do I see the nightly news as "a snuff film to enjoy" that's why i haven't turned it on at all this week. I do applaud your efforts to aid the situation down there and wish you the best of luck. Think twice before you flame people, their intentions might not be what you think. Once again good luck, despite the fact that your post irritated me, I sincerely wish you nothing but the absolute best in your struggle On Thursday, September 1, 2005, at 06:35 PM, dj fishead wrote:

Sensory Effect and the PG Series present OSCILLATE---- tuesdays at The Baltic Room--1206 pine st. Seattle WA 10p $3 21+ w/ residents ELECTROSECT, PAUL EDWARDS, GREG SKIDMORE tuesday Sept. 6 we welcome special guests LOGIC PROBE (livePA-SEA) Logic Probe's Dereck and Dave got their start using beat up records, yard sale keyboards, effects pedals, and Logic Probe as a groundwork for their sound. Over time their equipment has steadily evolved from samplers and keyboards to laptop computers, yet their off-beat musical vision has remained intact, never shying away from unexplored territory. Logic Probe has completed soundtrack work for several independant films, remixed songs for bandls such as Botch, Waxwing, and Obelus, as well as keeping busy playing live throughout the Northwest. Tonight Dereck and Dave join us for an exciting live set. SPLINTERS (live- Woodsn Lateral records-SEA) Splinters is the moniker for Woodson Lateral label head Ben Torrence's solo electronic project. Splinters is an opportunity for Ben to release some of his computer-based compositions that fall outside of the styles and/or collaboritive working methods of the laptop duo, Bookmobile, that he's in along with Victor Couto. Ben has been an active musician writing and performing in various bands since 1993. He has played guitar and sang in a poppy punk rock band (Bicker), played drums and/or bass in a number of bands playing everything from hardcore and math-rock to slow-core and space rock (Quell, The Sallow Bag of Doom, City Of, Trucker of the Sea and others), played freely improvised post-rock (Recidivist) and combined both laborious compositon and improvisation with computers (Lamplighter, Bookmobile). He is also currently playing post-whatever rock music with Robbie Hunt (Also of Bicker, Quell, City Of) in Lunch Buddy Program. Ben began making music with computers as early as he had the means to do so, beginning with general midi tinkerings back in 1995. Splinters draws inspiration from many forms of music, but lately has been most informed by microsound artists on labels such as 12k, Raster-Noton, and Mille Plateaux, beat-driven electronica of folks like Opiate, We™, Bows, and TRS-80, and the minimal techno of Ozy, Pan American, Bruno Pronsato, Murcof/Terrestre, Lusine and others __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Who here has committed monstrosities, and who has in any way found this "amusing". Amusing is not the same a amazing. If you were indeed referring to my comment, than fuck off and go buy a dictionary you prat. I thought i explained myself very well before but, whatever. So can you explain what justifies your post or even gives it any relevancy at all, for that matter. What have you done to help your fellow man today. Hopefully this can be the last post of this thread. On Thursday, September 1, 2005, at 10:13 PM, Z Moser wrote:
