Just want to share my success with SSL, it has turned my previously useless mp3 collection into well..something useful (the ironing is delicious) anyway, with the terrible pay that goes with djing in the small city where i live, i simply couldnt afford to keep buying vinyl for much longer. running it on a p4 3gig with just 512mb ram, i havent even needed to do any minor tweaking yet. For me at least, SSL is rock solid, and if i thought anyone would notice the sound difference, I would care ;) all i need is wireless internet now to dl music while playing...just kidding oh yeah, and a chimp to rip my records to HDD. serato, i take my hat off to you sincerely, shawn. I never thought that Secure Sockets Layer was useful for use with MP3 files other than downloading them - you learn something everyday... Nice to get stable report about Serato. I was at a club last night hearing a mechanic explaining the system to a Dj who had never heard about it. Most of the touring Dj's in my town are arriving with 40% vinyl and 60% Cd's. One or two a year are turning up with Laptop systems. Seeing a couple of Producer/Dj's running Live setups. What I am looking out for, is a club that installs Serato or FS as an inhouse system, allowing Dj's to arrive with just a hard drive or ipod. This will be the indication that the tides have turned. Anyone had a good fling with Ableton 5 yet? Maybe we should just start calling Dj's, JB's (juke boxes)! .simon Kent Williams wrote:
