My stereo receiver at home recently took a dump, and I was wondering if there is any software or programs or anything that I could load onto my computer to make it function as a regular ol' FM radio receiver- not as a webstream or mp3 or anything like that because my computer at home isn't connected to the internet. Thanks for suggestions. Brian

You are so right. How bout this http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/radioshark/ D-link used to make one, but I don't see it on their page anymore. It had a usb connection for tuning the station but the sound output came in over line-in. Stand-alone computer-based FM/AM boxes are harder to come by these days because the parts are so cheap, they need to be bundled with more functionality (ie. TV tuning) to be worth selling. Many of the handheld MP3 players include FM, and you can just use the headphone out to get it into your soundcard.. the radio on my iriver ifp-390 even sounds good. -- Eric Sorenson - EXPLOSIVE Networking - http://explosive.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
