just picked up this lp after hearing his excellent mum remix. does anybody know if it's supposed to play at 33 or 45 rpm? I think it's 45 - it certainly sounds better that way, but there's nothing on the sleeve, label, or even the runout that tells you at what speed it should be played... sounds really goof, by the way. thanks in advance, -wil m. ===== _________________ _________________ nao/music: http://www.mp3.com/naoko nao/blog: http://speakerslayer.livejournal.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? be sure to also check out his sidonie ep, also on morr. my favorite song of his is on there. sorry, i'm spacing on the name right now. also, "a choir of empty beds" on darla is also quite good -- and it contains a different version of one of the tracks on pop loops. i'm at work at the moment and don't remember the name of the track. finally, he's got a live CD called TMP, if i remember correctly. i believe it was released on charizma. i like it quite a bit, but it's slightly different stylistically than his studio releases. he's also got a new one coming out on morr soon. b. fleischman is definitely one of the best artists on morr music (and otherwise, imo). wil maurer <battleforitaly@yahoo.com> wrote: just picked up this lp after hearing his excellent mum remix. does anybody know if it's supposed to play at 33 or 45 rpm? Hey, it's your music now -- play it at whatever speed you like best. I'd say it's only worthwhile to be a stickler about it if you're going to see them live and really hope they play a song. Which is doubtful for most electronic musicians, imo. derek -- eggytoast.com -- eggtastic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

nevermind. I went home last night & listened to it at 33... it definitely sounds better that way... I got the record in the mail yesterday and only had time to go through it real cursory-like. I was kind of expecting it to sound more like static or styrofoam, with the high-pitched tonal stuff, but it turns out to be a more low-pitched, rumbly record than I expected. so the higher speed sounded more like I expected it to be & the slower speed sounds more clear & proper? there's definitely some bangers on this one (bangers for idm, that is). I also got the new 7" by him, which is quite good also. thanks, -Wil M. --- "Alan R. Lucas" <arlucas@telerama.com> wrote:
