Just a question: Does anybody have any suggestions for movie soundtracks (I'm not talking about the commercial hits stuff, obviously, more like underscores). I've been digging my sampled bits from "A Beautiful Mind" and I'm trying to find "Croupier" which has a pretty cool ending theme. Does anybody else have any suggestions? t --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I saw "dirty pretty things" over the weekend, and the soundtrack for that is pretty darn good in my opinion. You may want to watch the movie before you pick it up, but it's definitely quality stuff. derek -- eggytoast.com - eggtastic.com ------ it's in your grocer's freezer --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

a couple more nice soundtracks (and films)- Punch Drunk Love!!! (c'mon people- cant believe this one wasnt mentioned yet...) Michael Nyman- Prospero's Books (what a visual and audio feast of a movie!) Ryuichi Sakamoto- The Sheltering Sky (of course. achingly beautiful.) Nino Rota- 8 1/2 (of course of course. and best film of all time :) ) Black Orpheus (wow) -Thad ===== Thad Biggerstaff ~ReSource~ daht73@yahoo.com "Not to forget, I 'museumize' myself; so that then I pay myself a visit and find me again in all the relics, to hand down memories from one to the other, like a genealogical tree, as if it were morning!" - Massimo Toniutti __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? And also by Sakamoto, 'Forbidden Colours', the 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' s/t. Beat Kitano was in that one, btw: hardly recognizable, given the roles he's known for today. Actually, IIRC, the album of the music from that film is titled, 'Coda'. seek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I love this movie, wonder what kind of filters they put in front of the camera...the images sync with the sound sooooo much. Kit On Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at 03:31 AM, David Hodgson wrote:

Dang, you all forgetting the funniest bestest movie ever ... Thrashin' with Red Hot Chill Peppers before they were anywhere, Devo, The Bangles, Circle Jerks, and and and ah, i wish i still owned this movie and could watch the opening sequence again. Had me stoked for life on skating. Also the 'Reach The Rock' soundtrack was pretty good with loads of good chicago post-rock, even if the movie was a bit weird/lame. The film was directed by John Hughes, like ten years or so after all his 80s movies, and the soundtrack was scored by his son John Hughes III, who runs Hefty records and who enlisted John McEntire for the job, ending up with this awesome collection of bands like Tortoise, Bundy K. Brown, The Sea & Cake, Polvo and Dianogah. -thor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
