Simple question regarding the Russian deep techno dude who goes by the name of Motor: I've got two different 12"s by him, one called 1.1-1.4, and another that's 8 & 9. Both are pretty stunning, totally sturdy and deep tech tracks that never fail to amaze me (esp. 8&9). I want more information. I know he's got a CD that's out of stock everywhere called Hexen, but I don't think it's on vinyl. Anyone know otherwise? Know of any pseudonyms? And if there's 1.1-1.4, and 8&9, my powerful intellect and quick ability at deduction would lead me to believe there's a 5,6 and 7 somewhere. other music in nyc gave motor's cd such high praise, i had to give it a try. gotta say i didn't hear what was so great about it. sounded like some reasonably good acidy trax with some slight ambient interludes (can i go so far as to say 'hawtinesque'?). pretty generic but well produced, if you ask me. maybe on vinyl it takes on a different life. picked up dj skull's 'internet server 112' 12 on djax, which is some really great techy stuff. so good to hear these guys who were doing nosebleed acid, turning it around and showing some more finese. would also have to say t-power's full length is really interesting and really fun to play if you like breaks. ===== Peter Lasell - CTRL Design www.abattoir.com/~flint/ san francisco | brooklyn __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? He has a full length out called Hexen (I think), but it's not new. Very good, though. I think the last thing I saw by him was a 3" cd release. Motor = Vadim Ugrumov. Not sure if he records under other aliases, but I think so. jeff At 04:23 PM 1/8/2003, you wrote:
