Alright, I know its not cool this week to talk about Aphex Twin related things, but I just have to anyway. Basically what I wanted to say is that on this new Dillinger Escape Plan EP, they cover Come to Daddy and they do a pretty damn good job of it too. I might also mention that the EP features the vocal stylings of one Mike Patton and the result is incredible. I know there are some DEP fans somewhere here, right? Remember Calculating Infinity? The most brutal album ever conceived by human beings? Anyway, between now and then, DEP learned about so-called "riffs". You know... that thing where you play a line and then repeat it a couple times. They also found some keyboards to play here and there. The result, to me, is really incredible. The Patton element definitely takes the band somewhere they haven't really been before and some parts could even be described as "tuneful". I have a feeling that if Mike Patton weren't so busy spreading his ass thin all over the place and became their permanent singer, DEP could take over the world. Anyway, the point is, if you dig DEP, the new EP is rad. If you are a trainspotting aphex fan, download the cover song and listen to it and smirk. -Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Also, no need to start searching for that cover - just go here: http://www.warp-net.com/news/?ti_id=443 HTH. -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: Leon Lamont - Bubblegum Ape Law (Breakbeat Mechanic) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

oh my god. i've been waiting to hear this ep forever. how amazing is it that mike patton and DEP came together? two of the most amazing entities in hardcore music right now collaborating. Has anyone heard about the Digital Hardcore Remixes of tracks from calculating infinity? i've been dying to hear them. If they are anything like the tigerbeat 6 remixes of the locust, it should be well worth it. --- "when all soldiers lay their weapons down, or when all kings and queens relinquish their crowns, there will be sorrow no more." --Bad Religion On Fri, 02 Aug 2002 08:10:33 Ebola 3 wrote:
