Alright, I know its not cool this week to talk about Aphex Twin related things, but I just have to anyway. Basically what I wanted to say is that on this new Dillinger Escape Plan EP, they cover Come to Daddy and they do a pretty damn good job of it too. I might also mention that the EP features the vocal stylings of one Mike Patton and the result is incredible. I know there are some DEP fans somewhere here, right? Remember Calculating Infinity? The most brutal album ever conceived by human beings? Anyway, between now and then, DEP learned about so-called "riffs". You know... that thing where you play a line and then repeat it a couple times. They also found some keyboards to play here and there. The result, to me, is really incredible. The Patton element definitely takes the band somewhere they haven't really been before and some parts could even be described as "tuneful". I have a feeling that if Mike Patton weren't so busy spreading his ass thin all over the place and became their permanent singer, DEP could take over the world. Anyway, the point is, if you dig DEP, the new EP is rad. If you are a trainspotting aphex fan, download the cover song and listen to it and smirk. -Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
