hey NYC-gang, sorry about the OT post (as in POST-rock), but my band UsVsThem (three piece angular instrumental indie) is playing the Kntting Factory MainStage this Thursday with three other fantastic NYC bands and i thought you might be interested. All bands fall under the indie-rock unmbrella, and all have some pretty interesting takes on it. Also of interest, noise-pop-rockers CockRobot have been added to the line-up, to go on at 7:30. this is a two piece of casio beats, broken guitars, and strange helmets. hysterical and joyful. anyhoot, here's the invite... So, you failed in getting tickets for Episode II on opening night? Awwww. So, what are you going to do, get all pout-y and throw knives at your Jar-Jar dartboard? Or are you gunna get out of the house and go see four fantastic NYC bands at the Knitting Factory? Remember young jedi? "do" or "do not," there is no "try" ... Thursday, May 16th at the Knitting Factory MainStage!!! 7:30 COCKROBOT (casio-noise-core-sensationalism) http://zap.to/cockrobot 8:30 THE BIG SLEEP (big sound instrumental cavern rock) http://www.thebigsleep.net 9:30 SWAIN (indie rock with a difference) http://www.swainmusic.com 10:30 US VS THEM (imaginative angular instrumental indie) http://www.littlefurythings.com 11:30 ASOBI SEKSU (tokyo pop meets my bloody valentine) http://www.asobiseksu.com We?re really happy to be playing with such a wonderful line-up. All of these bands kick-ass, so you should come early, stay late, get drunk, and NOT flirt with my sister. Support local music, and quite faking the funk. may the force be with you, UsVsThem Knitting Factory 74 Leonard St. Located four blocks south of Canal, between Broadway and Church St. You can take the 1 or 9 train to Franklin Street, walk one block south to Leonard, turn left and walk a block & a half to the club. The A, C or E train can take you to Canal Street, where you would walk 4 blocks south and turn left on Leonard. You could also take the N or R train to Canal Street, walk down Broadway 4 blocks to Leonard, turn right, and see the club at the far end of the block. It's pretty much like any other Atom Heart release...brilliant :o) It does not have the humor found in many other Atom works, it is very cold, digital, and cleanly funky. Oddly enough, it fits in pretty well with the whole Schematic aesthetic. You can listen to the 2 minutes mp3 (128 MB) sample of DOS TRACKS :) (and any other RI release) if you go to the RATHER INTERESTING page. http://atom-heart.com/RI/ (Remember? DOS TRACKS :) is previously released on RATHER INTERESTING label. That's why the sample is legally there) enjoy, but safely =: ma_hovina > http://atom-heart.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think it's really good. But you do know that it's years old right? My only complaint would be the modem sound at the beginning. That's a bit corny, but at the time it would have been rad. I would also say that it's not as god as 'the naturalist' though.. DS

And it still sounds "new", doesn't it?

it means that you don't like 10 seconds of 50 minutes. Seams like this album is quite good ;)

Depends in what mood one is. The good thing of being Atom Heart fan is that you can always find the right music in his discography, doesn't matter how do you feel today. (ps. If you feel like religious today: the new GEEEZ 'N' GOSH album is out now) enjoy, but safely =: ma_hovina > http://atom-heart.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hell, 10 year old Atom material still sounds new to these ears.

Very true. Today I was feeling a bit like a little Roger Tubesound...

I must say that I still didn't hear the 2nd GEEEZ. The promo has been sent twice to me but I never received any (my postman must be a real freak), anyway I have 3 reviews of it at the http://atom-heart.com/news/ and one of the reviews wrote that "NOBODY KNOWS" is a little bit different then the 1st one. The tracks are shorter and funkier. Maybe you'll like it better. enjoy, but safely =: ma_hovina > http://atom-heart.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
