hey NYC-gang, sorry about the OT post (as in POST-rock), but my band UsVsThem (three piece angular instrumental indie) is playing the Kntting Factory MainStage this Thursday with three other fantastic NYC bands and i thought you might be interested. All bands fall under the indie-rock unmbrella, and all have some pretty interesting takes on it. Also of interest, noise-pop-rockers CockRobot have been added to the line-up, to go on at 7:30. this is a two piece of casio beats, broken guitars, and strange helmets. hysterical and joyful. anyhoot, here's the invite... So, you failed in getting tickets for Episode II on opening night? Awwww. So, what are you going to do, get all pout-y and throw knives at your Jar-Jar dartboard? Or are you gunna get out of the house and go see four fantastic NYC bands at the Knitting Factory? Remember young jedi? "do" or "do not," there is no "try" ... Thursday, May 16th at the Knitting Factory MainStage!!! 7:30 COCKROBOT (casio-noise-core-sensationalism) http://zap.to/cockrobot 8:30 THE BIG SLEEP (big sound instrumental cavern rock) http://www.thebigsleep.net 9:30 SWAIN (indie rock with a difference) http://www.swainmusic.com 10:30 US VS THEM (imaginative angular instrumental indie) http://www.littlefurythings.com 11:30 ASOBI SEKSU (tokyo pop meets my bloody valentine) http://www.asobiseksu.com We?re really happy to be playing with such a wonderful line-up. All of these bands kick-ass, so you should come early, stay late, get drunk, and NOT flirt with my sister. Support local music, and quite faking the funk. may the force be with you, UsVsThem Knitting Factory 74 Leonard St. Located four blocks south of Canal, between Broadway and Church St. You can take the 1 or 9 train to Franklin Street, walk one block south to Leonard, turn left and walk a block & a half to the club.
