The model # is MDRNC10 Here's a link to Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005I9S2/mysimon-sr-buy/107-0088619-3011747 The cheapest I've found them for is $139.00. Try http://www.mysimon.com to find the best deal. A coworker of mine let me borrow his pair all of last week. They definitely do the noice-cancelling part real well. I've found however that after a while they really start to hurt your ears. Not from the sound but from the headphones themself pressing up against the sides of your ear. You couldn't wear these things for several hours straight. My ears still hurt a couple hours after taking them out. My I have funny shaped ears or something.... It's a very interesting design though. You twist them 45 degrees into your ear and they actually lock into place. Also, I would consider them VERY dangerous as one screw-up with the volume and you could blow your eardrums. These things go *directly* into your ear canal ! With all that said these are definitely the best in-ear noise cancelling headphones on the market. Personally I just went out and bought a $15 knock-off from Aiwa (model # HP-V163) a few hours ago. They are fairly comfortable and have a frequency response of 6 - 25,000 Hz. My biggest problem with in-ear headphones has never been how good they sound or how much outside noise is filtered out but rather how long they can be worn before beginning to hurt. Hope this helps... Me too. Plus, if you have a nasty habit of falling asleep during music, over-the-ear ones sort of keep your head in one spot, while you can really impale yourself good on the in-ear ones. That said, though, for out-and-about moving around, the in-ear ones are really great because they don't bounce all over, slip off your head, or whatever. cheers, /derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- now on the interweb --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
