A coworker of mine let me borrow his pair all of last week.
They definitely do the noice-cancelling part real well.
I've found however that after a while they really start to hurt your ears.
Not from the sound but from the headphones themself pressing up against the sides of your ear.
You couldn't wear these things for several hours straight. My ears still hurt a couple hours after taking them out. My I have funny shaped ears or something....
It's a very interesting design though.
You twist them 45 degrees into your ear and they actually lock into place.
Also, I would consider them VERY dangerous as one screw-up with the volume and you could blow your eardrums. These things go *directly* into your ear canal !
With all that said these are definitely the best in-ear noise cancelling headphones on the market.
Personally I just went out and bought a $15 knock-off from Aiwa (model # HP-V163) a few hours ago.
They are fairly comfortable and have a frequency response of 6 - 25,000 Hz.
My biggest problem with in-ear headphones has never been how good they sound or how much outside noise is filtered out but rather how long they can be worn before beginning to hurt.
Hope this helps...

specific model he or she was talking about - if anyone remembers,
or it was you, please drop me a line. .
