Quite a few shows are happening in Winnipeg over the summertime, thankfully. You've already missed Pan sonic, Luke Vibert, John Acquaviva, and the Venetian Snares/Fanny/Fishead extravaganza... shows to come are: June 18-23 - The Wpg Jazz Festival's New Groove series, including: June 20th - Kid Koala & Bullfrog June 21st - The New Deal June 22nd - Cinematic Orchestra Other events... June 25th - Mouse on Mars July 5th - Richie Hawtin July 13th - Dieselboy Its going to be an interesting summer here I think. Vector Audax EMCC/Balboa/Steelcube Records

Fanny is quite good. I've seen his stuff develop over the last couple years and I'm glad he's getting noticed. For a guy that went from playing guitar in The Exploited and Bootsauce... he's definately found new musical ground to play in. He's also a genius when it comes to gear. VA

Hey. I live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada and I'm wondering if anybody knows of any good shows heading to the Canadian prairie provinces anytime soon or in the future. It seems as though that shows only travel to large cities such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. It's boring here. Tell me if anybody knows anything :/

I think that you have Winnipeg and Winnepeg confused. Winnipeg Manitoba is where I'm from, and we've had music for quite some time now. Winnepeg Manitoba is a small town near Hudson Bay known throughout the world as the prime exporter of the carrot-fish. The people of Winnepeg are not allowed to listen to music (a tradition thats existed since the 1800's) becuase it can be disruptive to the carrot-fishes' spawning activities. So.. no, they still don't have music in Winnepeg. The people of Winnepeg do however express thanks for your concern and would be happy to send you a box of 24 carrot-fish sticks.
