I don't know about any other idmers out there but I have really been enjoying Arovane's Atol Scrap way more than BoC as of late. I mean, I think BoC has made some great music, but I don't think Arovane gets enough exposure/hype for the quality of the stuff they've put out... imo. Just thought I'd share. ;=\ -matT nashville.tn np: boc turqoise.hexagon.sun --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Sign Arovane onto Warp, and you would have a different picture. But maybe that's not what he is looking for. But that aside, BoC is more "listenable" to a larger public than Arovane is, hence more hype. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

As true as these things are, they're just weak excuses for people who wish one artist were more popular than another. You're not supposed to wish for popularity, you're supposed to hunker down in your corner and silently cherish how special you are for being one of very few people who are fans of your pet obscure artist. Face it, that's why we're all into this in the first place - it makes us feel good to like obscure stuff because we're special, part of an elite in-crowd. [Please employ use of Sarcasm Detector version 3.7 or later before considering flame responses. Thank you.] Seriously, though, I firmly believe that attention paid to artists is the attention they deserve. Not a measure of worth or "who's better" kind of stuff. Cultural attention is kind of like breathing - it's a natural process that just *happens*, and while you can try to force more or less air if you're conscious of it, you're not going to be doing yourself any good. -Ambassador Love Damek, High of Lord __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? this. Yes the results of their working together will be released on Vertical Form later this month. I believe Lance posted a press release about this a little while ago, but I cant find it. -- Rek http://www.rekkid.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yeah that was me. the phonem & arovane album is now finished and pressed awaiting release on July 2. here are the release details again: . Arovane_Phonem: aer(valid) cd (Vertical Form 008CD) Tracks: - valid rand - aer(valid) - valid fard - (fard) ent:r - neyem - suffer - decay - blacksoil * Tracks 1, 2, 3 & 8 w/p by Arovane & Phonem * Tracks 4 & 5 w/p by Arovane * Tracks 6 & 7 w/p by Phonem After having listened to this one for a week or so my initial opinion is that this is a nice release - very much in line with the works of both artists's previous output - but not a 'great' release. it sounds like the collaborative effort didnt add anything special or different to these tracks. dont get me wrong, this is still a very enjoyable and accessible release, i was just expecting something more (and maybe i'll get that something extra with repeated listens). -->-Lance---- PO Box 450715 Westlake, OH 44145 United States --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
