I can't imagine unsubscribing from idm, no matter how poor the signal to noise ratio gets. I just get info here I don't get anywhere else. However, sometimes it's worse than other times. How about a dual-level list? You subscribe to either idm or idm-m (moderated). All posts would show up on idm, like always, but only approved posts would end up on idm-m. Everyone's happy: if you hate the idea of moderation, stay on idm, you won't miss anything, nothing changes for you. If politics and movies aren't your thing, move to idm-m. I know moderation has been discussed and rejected before, but since this could be implemented without changing idm@hyperreal at all, well...whaddaya think?
