Try 'The Good Good', a label comp for 2000 Black. You've got 4 Hero
covering Coltrane, and people like Roy Ayers turn up to sing and/or play
vibes on various tracks. So, basically it's acid jazz, but it's got a lot
more spine than yer average cafe wallpaper. Sort of like what As One / Kirk
De Giorgio stuff has become if you know eg. 'Planetary Folklore'.
It's an area that I really enjoy hearing if I'm out and up for a boogie,
but some of it just tips the cheese scales on me pretty badly..
Michael
np. 'My Life With Jesus' - Geeez n Gosh (I dismissed this first time I
heard it, but in the end grabbed it on a second listen and am really
enjoying it)
