With all this discussion of Autechre recently I don't recall anyone discussing what they actually DO when they play live. Maybe I wasn't paying attention. Anyway, I am gonna catch them in Oakland in a few weeks and wondered what I am in store for. . . Also, anyone else going to the show in the Bay Area on 18 May? Of course, don't bother the entire fucking list with yer response, I'll not be held responsible. david. np: Moblin, "Eastmost Penninsula" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Did you read the article that was posted a couple of days ago? Well, in case you didn't, they basically play in the dark, forcing audience participation of using their own imagination. At least, that was the impression I got out of it. Kind of cool if you ask me. on 5/4/01 8:18 PM, anachronistic at analogueskin@hotmail.com wrote:

i know for a fact that a nord lead 2 is used as i actually saw one of them grinding some rather nice granular sounds out of it . i'm pretty sure they use a nord modular as well. it did sound like the modular was doing alot of percussion as it does have a very health compression module , coupled with overdrive & wave-wrap ( an instant Ae sound on perc ! ) - the beats were VERY hard and it sounded like the lead 2 was being processed by a laptop - real time efx ? it did sound "live" though & i couldn't reckognize any tracks .... somatics@ntlworld.com http://somatics.c8.com icq # 110698430 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I was in London three weeks ago at the Brixton gig this was my 5th time, basically saw them every time they've toured Europe since Quaristice-2008 of course everytime it's a whole different thing, have to say this last one being probably the best... u get to see a hour of AE live every 3 years or so and every single time it's an amazing outlook they give you about future soundscapes... they are the only "band" that really leave me speechless... and grateful. they really bend time and space wtf only thing the volume was so low... could hear my thoughts (which is something I don't wanna do at an AE gig) and especially the chit chats of a bunch of drunk bitches around me... people yelling to pump it up but it just didn't happen Powell was ok, Haswell same old story three hours of Objekt at the end was just too much... with him playing techno idm-ish stuff I mean, really after an AE live set you dare to play stuff which just sounds like Tri Repetae? should have just played acieed for Christ's sake Il 10.12.2015 16:30 Clint Anderson ha scritto:
