ok, so who's read it? a bit of a shock for me to have the la times so comfortably throw idm into their "pop music" section coverage. overall fairly balanced and informed (stuff on matmos, kid 606, etc) although there were a couple of stretches (ae took "the base that aphex twin was working from and pushed even harder against sonic boundaries to invent new noises") and inaccuracies ("aphex twin's 'artificial intelligence' record"). I dunno, I've kinda always held that ae & afx started off on divergent paths and to say that ae only built on what afx offered up is a bit glossy. still, a fun article. with organic '96 heralding a wave of 'electronica' media coverage in socal, perhaps we'll be seeing something similar with coachella, ae in may, bjork/matmos, etc. should be interesting... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
