-yea both are good, I am also on an ambiet kick as of late, i recommend you look into pimmon, i have been listening to his release on meme alot, so fucking good. anyone heard his other cds? -scott yes Pimmon is a very talented composer. You could check his recent feature in the Wire and as far as record goes "Kinetica" on (KraaK)3 is good, "Copper Hats" is brilliant, and his lates album on Fallt is awesome. He has one upcoming on staalplaat "materia" series, and I just got three tracks to appear on a future BiP_HOp Generation volume, so obviously I'm not objective... Hi Hi Hi... Nevertheless you can download his MP3-only albums : "top 40 fodder" on http://fals.ch "assembler" on http://www.fallt.com 5 songs at http://www.tiln.org check also ssongs on the Fatcat split, compilations, singles... cheers / philippe ************************************************************** http://www.bip-hop.com unconventional sound adventures, adventurous & creative electronica... ************************************************************** BiP-HOp Generation v.1 SCHNEIDER TM (Germany) PHONEM (UK) GOEM (the Netherlands) MARUMARI (new-york) ULTRA MILKMAIDS (France) MASSIMO (Italy)

<i'd like to pick something up by pimmon. does anyone have suggestions? is <assembler pretty good? I think "assembler" could be his best work so far. It is an extremely tight and intelligent record and Pimmon immerge his listener is an unique ambience. A world you wanna drown in and never drift away from... I could also recommend his single on Static Caravan. "Cooper hats" is very good too. Pimmon is one of the most creative and original sound assembler I have heard in a while. Really worth checking out if you need some good experimentations. Fallt, the label that has issued "Assembler" is great too. philippe ************************************************************** http://www.bip-hop.com unconventional sound adventures, adventurous & creative electronica... ************************************************************** BiP-HOp Generation v.1 [bleep 01] MARUMARI / SCHNEIDER TM / PHONEM / GOEM / ULTRA MILKMAIDS / MASSIMO BiP-HOp Generation v. 2 [bleep 02] AROVANE / BERNARD FLEISCHMANN / WARMDESK / KÖHN / WANG INC. / LAURENT PERNICE Bip-Hop is a label devoted to spread unconventional sound adventures, adventurous & creative electronica... sounds, based on machines, mix, modulations, modifications, sampling, glitches, clicks & cuts... blip... bleep... bip... i'd like to pick something up by pimmon. does anyone have suggestions? is assembler pretty good? Funny you ask, i just got assembler and love it. I really must say all his stuff has yet to disapoint me, i really like waves and particles on meme. But you obvisouly know you are going outside the "idm" thing, pimmons work is wonderfully complex micoscopic worlds of sound, so in other words dont expect to hear beats or anything. enroll on the www.microsound.org list if you want to talk with more people doing this sort of thing, pimmon chimes in once in a while. the list is run by kim cascone. -scott a --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

So I've always had only good things to say about Pimmon, and his new/upcoming CD on Tigerbeat6 only strengthens my feelings. Interestingly, I think this one may appeal to both our currently warring factions -- those who like it noisy, and those who like it mellow. Similar to the way that Pita makes abrasiveness absolutely lush and gorgeous, Pimmon takes harsh beats and striated sounds and somehow weaves them into the most soothing configurations... Really amazing stuff. Highly recommended. Phil

uh.. it's too early and my head is busting trying to implement IPSec on a firewall, but i'm sitting listening to this new Pimmon CD, Electronic Tax Return. It is so good! Sparse, organic, tweaked, perfect. nice one! 'nother recent fav is OST's 'fuckin twats missed it'. -thor -- [thorsten@highpointlowlife.com ]# --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
