I was listening to Funkstorung's Additional Productions yesterday and it suddenly hit me: How did that happen? It just seems like such a strange combination. Nerdy German techno guys and the Wu Tang Clan. Does anyone know what led to this meeting of the minds? Are Funkstorung big Wu Tang fans? Is RZA a Funkstorung fan? Or was it strictly a business arrangement by the record company guys? German techno guys seem to have a weird attraction to Wu Tang. Alec Empire sampled the first Wu Tang album like a mofo on his "No Safety Pin Sex" and "Funk Riot Beat" EPs on DHR.

I believe the current issue of Grooves magazine answers this question:) but in a nutshell it was arranged because one of the Funk guys worked for the company who puts out Wutang peace Nate

not sure about the wu tang thing, danny, but on panacea's upcoming album for mille plateaux (out in oct), he samples the heck out of public enemy on *a lot* of the songs. now i love public enemy, and i like panacea, but in 1999, i don't think anyone should be *still* running "yeah, boyeee"-- and all of those other PE things that were used ad infinitum back when everyone else was doing it--over their tracks, especially when it sounds so tired. this ruined his album for me because he's done it on so many tracks, that and the sex related interludes in german (comiing across as private jokes interesting only to those involved) my .02. andrew duke Danny Freer wrote:
