I know Junior Varsity KM is supposed to have some new stuff out. Does anybody know of any other notable recent releases from Darla in San Francisco? Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Tom

actually yes. The bliss out series is best described as floating ambient post rock (there is that word again) with sparkeling electronics. The release I really enjoyed was Transient waves - wading and waiting (bliss out v.8). There is also a 10 inch version of this with completely different tracks (actually it only has 2 tracks). So how is this related to IDM? Transient Waves has a 12 inch on Fat Cat (with a tls remix) and will be releasing a full CD on fat cat. for more info: http://www.darla.com -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com

Actually, the 10" (which is lovely clear vinyl) was a "bonus" when you bought the LP version of the album (which has the same tracks as the CD). This is the only release in the series I own, and I bought it on a whim 'cause the package was so nice (I'm a sucker for 10" singles and non-black vinyl), but I enjoy it bunches and really should look into getting more of them. heh, down in Austin the 10 inch was seperated and sold seperately. Damn capitalists. I highly recommend picking up the transient waves release on fat cat if you enjoyed wading and waiting. -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com
