you moron. have you read the label on the cd? it *was* a release on the evolution label. anyway who do you think gave us the tracks, did the artwork and have been paid over the years for that compilation of, at the time, extremely beautiful, rare and unheard by most people, tracks? the bloke who wonders up and down west st in a mussolini uniform? leonardo di caprio? repeat for those atlantically challenged, it was JOINT warp/evolution release. ::greg ::www.warprecords.com

You know I'm not sure as to Greg's status on this list; he seems to float in and out, conveniently chiming in whenever anyone posts anything less than stellar about Warp. Now if you're reading this Greg I'm not saying you don't have a valid point, it's just the attitude man. I don't think I have ever read a post of yours where it didn't contain some slam or snide remark. Now I've been buying practically every Warp release now since 93, and will continue to do so because I think the work is solid. That being said you make it difficult for me to really like Warp Records as a whole, well at least based on your representation... peace Nate On Tue, 16 Feb 1999, Greg Eden wrote:

ok hands up, i'm a sarcastic bastard but erm... erm. that's it actually. i'm a sarcastic bastard. i'm genuinely sorry if you don't like that. it certainly shouldn't reflect on warp. how would you like me to represent warp just out of interest? reply off list pliz. i'd personally prefer a caustic but personal reply over a bland corporate please everyone post but your mileage obviously differs. BUT yes i suppose my very very rare recent posts may seem a bit random out of context (i forget how long i've been out of IDM things years now i suppose) and possibly a bit negative. bit annoying that people can dis warp and we're not allowed to reply, no? yup it is but that's the way it has to be and i'm sorry and annoyed i broke the rule, not the least reason being i've wasted 20 mins writing this post. i'll post some positive things if you like, to help balance things and then unsubscribe again and this time try not to break my golden rule of silence. bogdan. budakhan mindphone. 10 years. plaid lp. plone lp. warpnet rumblings. nannou. nuaeep. goldeneye still. salt and vinegar wheat crunchies. 2.2.1. 24bit96KHz recordings women listening to techno. ho. ho. bye bye mr man. ::greg ::www.warprecords.com

Nah, I'm with Greg on this one. The guy made a fully lame comment accusing Warp of cashing in, when in fact they, and Evolution, had done us all a favour by releasing an album of nearly impossible to find early cuts from GC. CheerioAndrewC.

Damn right. I've never understood why people have said they've not liked this comp (then again I have the vinyl version with less trax than the CD). If you'd grown up hearing those trax like I did in my mid-late teens, you'd understand how wonderful they were at the time and the quality of each track compared to other stuff around at the time. Some of it is soooo gorgeous....I can only assume people are hearing it for the first time now. -- Ben Coffer http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

I agree with Ben. I got the LP the moment it came out. Beautiful stuff. It was really hard to find the evolution stuff (especially in the US) at the time. I thank warp for giving us the opportunity to own those tracks. suzanne Ben Coffer wrote:
