'Teenage Hardon' will not be on the full length. It's a track based on the glory of young male teenage guitar masturbation (c'mon you all stood in front of the mirror at some point), hence the over-amped distorted noises.

I'm sorry, that's my fault. People in the UK can expect a particulary hideous strain of the flu soon. Funki has promised to discreetly lick the forks on his flight back today to spread the love. Also, I'm just reading the biography of Sun Ra. At one point it mentions that he appeared on Saturday Night Live?! Does anyone remember this? More importantly does anyone have a video tape of this. According to the insanely detailed unofficial SNL site www.saturday-night-live.com, Sun Ra appeared on May 20, 1978 - the final show of the 77/78 season. The Comedy Network up here repeats old SNLs a couple of times a day, Jeff, so you may be able to catch it sometime. I don't know if they show them in order, but the last one I caught a couple of weeks ago was from the mid 80s (the Murphy/Piscopo/etc. years). Greg

I'm taking a course from him now on "Sound and Phonography." It's quite bizarre, but really interesting. It deals with all sorts of sound philisophical issues stemming from the recorded nature of modern sound... We get to listen to the KLF and Scanner for credit, and he promises to get Thurston Moore to talk to us. Szwed is an odd man... he knows more random facts than anybody, but he can't always make anything logical out of them. That was the problem with huis Sun Ra book. All sorts of random anecdotes from ouyt of nowhere. The descriptions of the music itself were a bit lacking. But still a worthwhile read. Sam
