> Speaking of which, where is a good place to start with Mego? well, the best release of the year is Fennesz's "Hotel Parallel" cd, along with the Fennesz "Plays" 7" which was coreleased on cd by jim o'rourke's label moikai... i also reccomend several releases by mego folk which aren't on mego such as the rehberg&bauer cd on touch...r&b are the two heads of mego, peter rehberg being pita, and ramon bauer being half of general magic. Anything by farmers manual is brilliant, although i've found many folk on this idm list to find farmers manual to be "too abstract"...fuck them...it's brilliant...start off with fsck (if you can find it, it's out of print) or the new album, one of the best of the year, explorers_we... hope this helps... -joshua...

funny, you list the same things i do... yes, ryoji ikeda is the best, and in fact i belive the biggest influence on mego stuff... the mika vainio solo album "onko" is also a great album as well as anything under the ø moniker, however the ø stuff isn't of the same ilk. pomassl should be on mego i suppose, he's from vienna and peter rehberg thinks he's brilliant or something... -joshua...

Rehberg adores him, too. equally. > merzbow (release on mego under his eal name, AND i *think* 'mazk' was > oringally on mego.. which may or may not be merzbow and a fellow > from the hafler trio??) mazk is Masami Akita and Zbigniew Karkowsi. that was never released on mego. you could be confusing it with the Stutzpunkt Wien 12 (DJ Elin) album, UFO Beobachtungen '93-'95, which was a double 12" on mego rereleased on Or. mr. e. on: denman maroney: hyperpiano (private)
