See, but really, if that happened, all of you folks would just wind up complaining about how wack Gak, "Philosophy Of Sound And Machine," & the Universal Indicators sound. Trust me, those things are REALLY dated sounding now. & the labels know this & would rather you continue to think that they're mysterious & magnificent. Marc Poirier (But the "Hangable Auto Bulbs," mmm yes, those are amazing & have surely stood up through the years & should be reissued.) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Gak was never that great to start with but the Philosophy comp is timeless and stands up very well IMO. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Truly incredible tracks from Derrick May, Balil, Future/Past and even good stuff from the Aphex Twin and the Kosmik Kommando. If anybody on this list likes Innovator, Bytes, Selected Ambient Works 2, the Polygon Window album, Electro-Soma, etc. etc. this compilation is basically tracks similar to those put together. A phenomenal release. Interesting about the "lost" album, I had no idea. The phone prank tracks sound like a laugh. Any ideas as to why this was never released? Perhaps too much glut of aphex twin material, a marketing decision? I never liked the universal indicator series. If you're into old acid tracks I guess they might be worth more than an initial listen, but they haven't been treated as kindly by time as some of the releases around the same time period. (as has been mentioned before) Also, speaking of used bins.. I found SAWI & "feed me weird things" on 2xLP for $7 each, mauricio (sp?) compilation CD on chain reaction for $5, the new schematic compilation (which BTW _is_ excellent for both newcomers and old fans of the schematic sound) for $7, harris/plotkin collaboration from 1995 for a few bucks.. etc.. Boston can be kind sometimes. later andrew -- -| Andrew Schrock | aschrock@cs.brandeis.edu |- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

not true at all...it's some of the best electronic dance music ever made, sounds as good today as it did six years ago. totally mindblowing stuff. mb --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
