Yeah, this is very true... "flutter" is a beautiful song, but I can't imagine many other people actually liking it. I typically only listen to my music on headphones because I know it annoys my friends & roomates!

This is a very good analogy, IMHO. And I also agree for the most part about LP5; but I would say give it a few more listens. Initially I thought it was very bad, because it was too much complex almost random Cichilisuite-style Autechre which I didn't care for.... my favorite Autechre stuff is on Anti, tri repetae++ and Envane. And they seemed to have veered away from that. BUT, after listening to LP5 more, it is warming up to me... so maybe I am starting to see the "Picture". I think there new music is just so much more complicated that its harder to understand or get a handle on... which is bad in some ways because maybe some people that understood their previous music won't understand this album, when they could deeply understand their previous work. So, I guess the bottom line is to have some more patience... Regards, -Aronne

i dont know about everyone else on the list but i was very impressed with lp5, ive yet to get into all their previous work as much.... chiastic slide was comendable but still left me a bit blurry as i hardly throw it on, lp5 though is abounding with all those lovely filtered sounds that appear to be done at a whim that turns everyone else off so completely, im of the opinion that lp5 is this vast new scope of idm when a majority of the material seems to be less innovative and maybe even a bit stagnant, _william
