Yeah, this is very true... "flutter" is a beautiful song, but
I can't imagine many other people actually liking it. I typically
only listen to my music on headphones because I know it annoys my
friends & roomates!

This is a very good analogy, IMHO. And I also agree for the most
part about LP5; but I would say give it a few more listens. Initially
I thought it was very bad, because it was too much complex almost
random Cichilisuite-style Autechre which I didn't care for.... my
favorite Autechre stuff is on Anti, tri repetae++ and Envane. And
they seemed to have veered away from that.
BUT, after listening to LP5 more, it is warming up to me... so maybe
I am starting to see the "Picture". I think there new music is just
so much more complicated that its harder to understand or get a
handle on... which is bad in some ways because maybe some people
that understood their previous music won't understand this album,
when they could deeply understand their previous work.
So, I guess the bottom line is to have some more patience...
