Since it came up... So Wolfgang is the king of all that is bouncy & minimal (in my book) what with all his Mike Ink , Freiland, and Gas guises but brother Reinhard - in the two or three things Ive heard - sounds more like he took one of his brother's hand me down tracks and made whole albums out of them. Is there anything good from Reinhard that Im missing out on? Admittedly I cant think of any of the disappointing title names to which I am referring but should I continue to have the same expectations from both Voights, or stick with Wolfgang? ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-4202 Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Fort Worth, Texas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

ernie asked: > Is there anything good from Reinhard that Im missing out on? of course there is. you like bionauts lush life electronica, then be sure to check out my own fave reinhard-releases under the guise 'kron', esp. the lp's 'gold und liebe' and 'silikron'. more in the pop direction with a mellow feel, not stripped down. > Admittedly I cant think of any of the disappointing title names > to which I am referring the names you have in mind might be 'pentax' on profan, and 'sturm' on mille plateaux? i never got warm with pentax. too sterile. the first sturm cd (mp60) is great (gas-like tones of big bells), the 12" is ok but not that different, the 'sturmgesten'-cd should have been a 4-track-12". maybe it's just me, but i don't get it. very little progression during the 5min tracks if any. (and i looove gas, btw) > but should I continue to have the same > expectations from both Voights, or stick with Wolfgang? watch them both, and buy the harvest releases! I don't agree with your statement regarding Reinhard voigt. I think 'Gold und liebe' by KRON (reinhard) and 'Silikron' by KRON , both on Harvest. Sturm s/t cd on Mille plateaux and Forever Sweet 'Geben&Nehmen' (reinhard and 2 others) on Ladomat. are the best works I've heard by Reinhard. on the other hand I would prolly stay away from his last two releases as Pentax as they are SUper minimal and pretty hard to get into, or less ofcourse you bathe in the shit like I do... maybe lance will have descriptions of these releases? /k/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Ernesto Ikerd <IkerdEA@lmtas.lmco.com> To: International Damage Machines <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, March 24, 2000 5:12 PM Subject: (idm) Gas and the Voight brothers..
