So, after all the (brief) discussion on Vladislav Delay's sound, can anyone give me a convincing reason to buy any of it. While some CR stuff is delightfully organic sounding and rich, some is emptier than than my wallet. To summarize: Porter Ricks, Monolake = well done; Hallucinator, Fluxion = poorly done. To where does the Vladislav Delay sound decamp? I am searching hard for reasons to continue laying out cash for releases that entertain my mind for 2 weeks (umm... Arovane? Plod?). Perhaps I'm just burned out ... Can anyone unequivocally recommend their releases as having import to my ears in 2 weeks (or more importantly, 2 years)? As an uplifting side note, does anyone know if Sprout has any future releases planned? The 3 eps released so far DO bring me joy. While I haven't heard a lot of VD stuff myself, a friend of mine who is a very "serious" music listener and is a huge fan of both Porter Ricks and Monolake is praising Delay as some of the best stuff he's heard in a long time. YMMV.

Yessir. I was lucky enough to receive a CD-R of two Varathane tracks that are destined for the next Sprout release. Very nice stuff. The only Vladislav Delay that I own is "Multila" which is on Chain Reaction. The sound is incredibly dense, deep, thick layers of atmospheres. It doesn't get very rhythmic in the way that his Sistol release on Phthalo does, with the exception of the 3rd (20 min) track, and it generally rumbles and crackles under the surface of drones. I thoroughly enjoy it... usually a lot of this stuff doesn't demand repeated listening in the way that "Multila" does.
